For many, a custom made sword is a long term aspiration, whether for self expression, authenticity or to suit a particular martial technique, the reasons are many. But for those who are prepared to invest the time and cash, an armourer is nothing short of an artist.

Christopher Dobson is the former master armourer to the Royal Armouries, what more need be said. He not only produces very high quality arms and armour, but he produces them using traditional techniques and equipment. In addition to creating reproduction pieces Mr Dobson also offers a restoration service, leads masterclasses and delivers the occasional lecture. And with the other hand. . .

A small armoury based in Kent with work done by Tim Noyes, very friendly chap, only too willing to chat about what you want for the amount that you want to spend. Very informed and enthusiastic, and able to explain the making of arms and armour in lay terms. Fairly rapid turn around too.
